CMC will collect all your recyclable plastic from your farm and bring back to Pukerau where we bale and send on to its new home.  

At your On Farm Recycling Center we can now collect glass, aluminium, steel, soft plastics, cardboard, tetra pack, milk bottles, #1 plastics, #2 plastics, #5 plastics and household appliances from jugs and hair straightners to Moblie phones, household batteries, car batteries and whiteware.  Also in your workshop old power and battery tools and batteries. 

If it is not on the list then just ask. 

Our hope is to keep this recycling list growing and by working together with other recyclers in our area like Gore Lions, we aim to collect all recyclable products on your farm by July 2024.

CMC Recycling are contractors for Plasback.  We collect, bale and ship bale wrap, silage cover, orchard and vineyard netting and polypropylene 1/2 and 1 Tonne Sling bags for Plasback.

We collect from farms in Southland and Otago and bring back to Pukerau to bale.

In the last four years we have personally collected 4 800 000 kg of bale wrap from Southland and Otago Farms. 

Plasback NZ operates a Product Stewardship scheme to recover used farm plastics for recycling. Plasback came to New Zealand in 2006, and has gone from strength to strength. Operating their original bin and liner system, which when combined with on farm collection, has contributed to Plasback not only running a simple and effective system but has meant over 19,000 tonnes of waste collected since the scheme’s inception. As part of our continued commitment to Product Stewardship we now operate nine purpose built balers designed to improve the onward transport logistics from our main centres to the recycling plants, and have introduced new products made from recycled plastics, Tuffboard, Tuffdeck, and Plaswood. We have a reliable network of Contractors who run the collections, and cover the whole of New Zealand.

Plasback was the first product stewardship scheme for agriculture to receive accreditation from the Ministry for the Environment in 2010.

It is not only farmers that are looking at recycling.  Here at CMC we have an option for Commercial Customers.  

We can accept Plastic numbers 2 and 5 which are processed here in New Zealand. 

Pallet wrap plastic takes up a lot of room in skips and we can offer a cheaper more environmentally friendly option by recycling a lot of the plastic that comes through the doors of your business.
